General Information

Invitations to Summit

  • Personal and non transferable invitations

  • An invitation to attend the 2008 Summit is valid for one person and is not transferable. Each invitation is personalized to a guest and cannot be utilized by any other person.

  • How can you be invited?

  • Attendance is limited to VCs, LPs, Gatekeepers and private equity investors in private “technology” companies (including life sciences, cleantech, new materials, energy, etc.). If you fit into one of these categories and wish to be invited, please simply follow this link.

Registration to Summit

  • Registration process via extranet

  • Each email invitation to a guest contains a confidential “password” which gives access to the Summit's Extranet Registration Form. Please never divulge your password as this allows access to your personal registration file.  

    The whole registration process is made via Summit's Extranet Registration Form, including access to Summit, reservation of a room at Hotel Château Frontenac, reservation of a seat on a chartered flight from Boston or New York and payment (see details below).

  • Subsequent modification of reservation

  • Subject to Cancellation policy, guests may at all time modify or cancel any reservation made via Summit's Extranet Registration Form (with password), including registration to the Summit, seat on a chartered aircraft and room at Hotel Château Frontenac. Confirmation and new invoice or credit note are sent to each guest by email and copy is available on Summit's Extranet Registration Form (with password). Payment is adjusted automatically on guest’s credit card, when applicable. No paper confirmation is sent to guests.

    Guests may also modify at all time personal information and information about firm to appear on Summit's web site and in Participants' Guide (“Summary about the firm”, guest’ “Short curriculum vitae” or photograph, etc.).

  • Information about guests reproduced on Summit's website and in Participants’ Guide

  • Sections entitled “Summary about the firm” and “Short curriculum vitae” in Summit's Extranet Registration Form will be reproduced together with guests’ photograph on both Summit's web site and in Participants' Guide.

Chartered aircraft from Boston and New York (direct flights for exclusive use of Summit's guests)

  • Aircraft

  • Optionally, two chartered aircraft (Dornier 328 Regional Jets) are available for the exclusive use of our guests from or transiting via Boston and New York. Both are direct flights to the event and back. Each flight is approximately 1:15 hour.

  • Flight schedule, gate location, parking at Logan and Newark airports, etc.

  • Airfare

  • Airfare is set on current commercial rates. Airfare includes ground transportation in Quebec City from airport to hotel and hotel to airport

  • Reservation and payment

  • Reservation and payment are done by completing the Summit's Extranet Registration Form (with password) by marking the appropriate box. There are a limited number of seats available.

  • Confirmation of reservation and invoice

  • Confirmation of reservation and invoice are sent to each passenger by email. A copy of confirmation of reservation and invoice are also available by accessing Summit's Extranet Registration Form (with password). No paper confirmation is sent to passengers.

  • Cancellation or modification of reservation

  • Subject to Cancellation policy, guests may at all time modify or cancel room reservation by accessing Summit's Extranet Registration Form (with password) and making appropriate choice.   • Ground transportation in Quebec City

  • Ground transportation in Quebec City from airport to hotel and hotel to airport is provided by Summit. Hostesses will welcome our guests at Quebec City airport. Price for ground transportation is comprised in airfare.

  • Meal & snack served aboard

  • There will be a meal served on each flight back (Boston and New York) on October 28. A snack will be offered on the flight arriving in Quebec City on October 27.

  • Passport (US and Canadian travelers) and visa (international travelers) required

  • Do not forget to bring your passport. In addition, for travelers from outside the US and Canada, a visa is required to re-enter the United States from all non US and non Canadian citizens, in addition to a valid passport.

Accommodation at Hotel Château Frontenac

  • Preferred rates (do not reserve directly)

  • Summit has negotiated preferred rates at $229 CAD per night ($279 CAD for “Deluxe room) at historic Hotel Château Frontenac for Summit's guests. In order to benefit from preferred rates, reserve as explained below and do not make reservations directly at Château Frontenac. Reservation and payment is done as explained below. There is a limited number of rooms available at preferred rate, so please reserve soon.

  • Preferred rates also available for extended stay

  • Preferred rates are also available for those guests who wish to spend the weekend in Quebec City before or after the Summit.

Applicable taxes

  • All listed prices do not include applicable taxes, which will be added to your invoice (5% Federal tax and 7.5% Provincial tax). Summit's tax numbers are: 847 605 540 (GST) and 12 0746 1586 TQ0001 (QST).

Cancellation policy

  • Refund of registration fees will be allowed until October 3, 2008. Refunds relating to travel arrangements will be allowed until October 17, 2008. Refunds relating to accommodation will be allowed until October 22, 2008. All permitted refunds will be processed before November 30, 2008.

Weather in Quebec City at end October

  • Normal temperature in Quebec City at end October is between 5 and 10 degrees Celcius (between 40 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit).

    However, it is not unusual that temperature rises up to 21 degrees and more (70 degrees Fahrenheit) in famous Indian Summer (more info »). For example, last year’s average temperature between October 20 and 24 was 18,5 degrees Celcius or 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
