Welcome to the North American Venture Capital Summit's
“Institutional Investors Forum”

Topic of this year’s conference: to share the views, experience and concerns of institutional investors regarding the private investments in technology and intellectual property based companies.

The meeting will serve as a forum to begin to draft material that will articulate the positions of the investors with respect to these investments and will address the following two questions:

  • With the state of the capital markets and the past experience of institutional investors in these investments, how does the model for accessing these investments need to change and what is in it for the institutional investor to foster and support these changes?
  • What is needed from a public policy perspective to encourage the institutional investors to revisit these investments?

The meeting will present a short panel discussion on the opportunities and challenges in the venture capital asset class from the perspective of two large funds, and then will be opened into a round table discussion.

The meeting is by invitation and will be limited to approximately 40 participants to encourage an effective round table discussion. There will be additional room for observers
The LPF will communicate these positions to the Public Policy Forum at the end of its session
